This is Sanna’s story about the racism her family has endured for being Muslim. She says her family left a war zone to come to Australia but didn’t expect to face violence in the suburbs.
This story was developed as part of the project: Human Rights Education and Advocacy with Community Development Workers working with Muslim women.
This project aims to develop meaningful and sustainable ways of engaging and supporting Muslim women experiencing discrimination and racism, and building capacity in their communities.
This project is run by the Australian Human Rights Commission in partnership with Outreach, TAFE, Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE), and the Bankstown Area Multicultural Network (BAMN).
